🌏 WHAT AGE DOES MY CHILD HAVE TO BE TO TRY OUT?

Developmental Team: 5 1/2 years to young 7.

Level 3 Team: 7 years to young 11

🌏 WHAT WILL MY CHILD BE EVALUATED ON?

In terms of physical ability, we will be evaluating all girls’ current levels of strength, flexibility, power, agressiveness, and courage. 

For girls young 7 and under, very basic gymnastics skills such as swinging, running on a beam, vault running, agility, etc. will be closely examined. 

Older 7’s and up girls that are in our Rainbow classes will be evaluated on specific skills on vault, bars, beam, and floor relevant to the Level 3 competition standards. They should first have achieved the following color ribbons prior to trying out:

Bronze: Vault, Beam, Floor

Green: Uneven Bars

🌏 WHAT IS THE COMMITMENT FOR TEAM?
DEVELOPMENTAL TEAM (PETS)

Practice twice weekly for 3 hours

As progress occurs, length & frequency of practice times will occur

70%-80% of time is devoted to strength and flexibility

Usual progression in PETS is JET 1, or Level 3 (link)

Fee structure is monthly

Parent Meeting will be Thursday May 22, 2025 @ 7:30PM

USAG LEVEL 3 TEAM

Practice 3 times weekly for 3-4 hours per practice

As progress occurs, length & frequency of practice times will occur

30% of time is devoted to strength and flexibility

Usual progression from Level 3 is Level 4

Fee structure is monthly

Parent Meeting will be Thursday May 22, 2025

🌏 HOW AND WHEN WILL I GET THE RESULTS OF THE EVALUATION?

You will be notified by Tuesday May 20, 2025 by email or phone. A written copy of the evaluation will be mailed to your home as soon as possible.

🌏 WHEN DOES PRACTICE START?

If your child is selected for either program, it will be necessary for them to begin summer practice on Monday June 9, 2025. 

The Developmental Team (PETS) will practice a total of 6 hours per week on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:30 - 3:30 PM this summer and continue in the fall on Wednesdays from 4-7 PM and Saturdays from 12:50-3:50 PM.

The Level 3 Team will practice a total of 10 1/2 hours per week this summer on Mondays and Thursdays from 9-12:30 PM and Wednesdays from 3:30-7:00 PM and will continue in the fall on Mondays from 5:20-8:30 PM, Thursdays from 3-7:30 PM, and Fridays from 4:50-8:10 PM

🌏 WHAT DO I TELL MY CHILD IF SHE DOESN’T MAKE THE TEAM?

In the event your child does not qualify for our team program, and you are not quite sure how to tell them, please see us or call for advice. We have dealt with this many times and may be able to provide you with some experienced guidelines. If your daughter is a current member of our Rainbow class we offer a LEAGUE TEAM PROGRAM that has proven to be a terrific experience for girls. For girls ages 12 and over we offer the EXCEL program at our Twinsburg location.
