About Us

Gymnastics World opened in September of 1975 under the ownership of Ron & Joan Ganim, along with Joan’s parents, Jim & Martha Puzder. Ron passed away in 2017 but Joan still operates the business with the help of her 3 children: Maria [Schneider], Greg & AJ. Maria is a full time teacher at BBHMS and head coach to the  BBHHS Bees gymnastics dynasty. Greg manages both Gym World locations. (Broadview Hts. & Twinsburg) AJ owns and manages World Elite, an off-shoot of GW located in Brecksville.

Their first facility was 4,000 square feet, which they quickly outgrew and moved to a 7,800 square foot facility, which they eventually outgrew as well. Their current facility was built in 1985 with an addition built in 1998 bringing the total square footage to 23,800 square feet.  In  2014 they opened  their second 25,000 square foot facility in Twinsburg.

Today, over 1,000 girls & boys are enjoying participation in one or more of GW’s gymnastics programs including preschool classes, school-aged recreational gymnastics, tumbling classes, and boys & girls competitive teams. 

Outside the gym…

Ron & Joan were head coaches of 19x overall Ohio High School Gymnastics State Champions – the Brecksville/Broadview Heights Bees. 

In 2020 The Ganim’s were named Business Leaders of the Year by USAG

In 2020, AJ was a member of the Covid Task force in Ohio representing the Gymnastics and Cheer industries.

Ron and Joan were both inducted into the USAG Region 5 hall of Fame in 2018.

Ron was inducted into the Northern Ohio Lebanese American Association Hall of Fame in 2015.

Between 2004 & 2011 GW athletes raised nearly $200,000 for Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital.
